Backup & Disaster Recovery
Backups here are straightforward: a local NAS for fast restores and a cloud bucket for off-site safety. We encrypt, monitor, and regularly prove we can restore.
How your data moves
Local = fast restores. Cloud = off-site safety. Both are encrypted and monitored.
What we use and why
Local snapshots
- Quick rollbacks for accidental deletes
- Windows VSS or ZFS where supported
Kopia backups
- Encrypted, deduplicated versions
- Only changes are sent to save bandwidth
Cloud buckets (R2/S3)
- Off-site copy for fire, theft, or ransomware
- Optional immutability to block tampering
Verification & reports
- Scheduled test restores prove it works
- Email health summary each month
Performance & security
- Backup windows and bandwidth throttling
- Encryption in transit and at rest
Restore options
- Single file, whole machine, or new hardware
- We pick the fastest path back to work
Common questions
Do I need a NAS?
We can use your NAS or supply one. Local storage makes restores fast and keeps work going even if internet is down.
Which cloud do you use?
Cloudflare R2 by default. Any S3-compatible bucket works if you already have one.
Will backups slow my network?
Backups run on a schedule you choose and can throttle bandwidth during work hours.
How long do you keep versions?
Common choices are 30, 60, or 90 days. Longer retention is available if needed.
